Building for the Future - Alumni Challenge

Alumni Challenge - 1990s Win!

We are asking you, our staff alumni, to bring us even closer to our $2.5 million dollar goal!

Based on the number of staff alumni Lutherlyn has after 75 summers, we have set a challenge of $200,000 - and if the goal is met....one of the newly constructed cabins funded by the campaign will be dedicated in honor of all past staff.

The Challenge:
$200,000

The Reward:
In addition to having one of the new cabins dedicated in honor of all past staff, we thought a bit of competition would be fun!

The decade group who pledges the most (in dollar amount), and the decade group who has the most pledges (number of participant households), will be rewarded with a mini-reunion during/after CampBlast '24 (May 11, 2024) complete with campfire cookout!!

The Results:
During the All Staff Reunion, Becky (Albright) Franklin and Meredith (Treser) Trimble announced a special $200,000 Alumni Challenge for Lutherlyn's Building for the Future Capital Campaign....In total Lutherlyn's Alumni have pledged $303,677!

More than one hundred former staff members participated to achieve these astounding results!

And don't forget...there is a $50,000 match too!!

$353,677 - WOW!

Because the $200,000 Alumni Challenge was met, one of the to-be-constructed cabins (construction slated to begin after summer camp 2025 concludes) will be dedicated in honor of all past staff!

If you have not make a gift yet, we encourage you to invest in Lutherlyn's future by making a gift today, your support will bring Lutherlyn even closer to its $2 million goal!

Campaign Progress:

As you may know, Lutherlyn is currently conducting a capital campaign. (If you would like to know more about the campaign visit lutherlyn.com/future.) The campaign has already gathered support from Lutherlyn's full time staff, members of the Board of Directors, congregations from the Northwestern and Southwestern Pennsylvania synods of the ELCA, as well as from our Trinity Pines Club members.

As of February 1st, 2024 Pledges have reached $1.75 million!

The Amphitheater’s renovation will cost approximately $500,000 and is already fully funded by campaign gifts. Shortly after the conclusion of Summer Camp 2023, on August 6th we celebrated together with a worship and re-groundbreaking service. The following morning work began. Though the Amphitheater will have a different sub-structure, the overall layout will remain incredibly similar, and when work is complete it will retain the look and feel we all know and love. The project will be completed prior to the beginning of Summer Camp 2024. You can see what's happening on Lutherlyn's online photo directory where will be sharing photos of this exciting project as it unfolds.

The next project of the campaign, a new cabin village, is slated to begin after summer camp 2025 concludes.
