Lutherlyn Environmental Education Program
Teacher Workshops
Workshops are offered in the fall and spring for
educators who wish to expand their knowledge of the environment and
obtain useful classroom resources. Each workshop participant
receives an activity guide and experiences sample activities.
Intermediate Unit credit is available through Intermediate Unit 4.
Lunch is provided as part of the program.
Project Learning Tree
Project Learning Tree workshops introduces participants to an activity guide
published by the American Forest Foundation. This resource uses the
forest as a framework to help students explore environmental
issues and develop critical thinking skills. The guide includes
nearly 100 activities plus background information, in-depth instructions, materials
lists, and variations for each activity.
Project WILD
Project WILD workshops are based on an activity guide published
by the Western Regional Environmental Education Council. It is an
interdisciplinary program that emphasizes wildlife and focuses on
diversity, ecological principals, and conservation. Each of the 113
activities includes background information, activity procedures,
materials list, extensions, and evaluations.
Keystone Aquatic Resource Education
Keystone Aquatic Resource Education (KARE) workshops include
multiple resources and are administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and
Boat Commission. The program involves exploring the physical and
chemical properties of water, aquatic wildlife, and the water
resources of Pennsylvania. The program includes over 75 activities
and a wealth of background information.
